52nd World of Wheels ready to roar into State Fairgrounds
Feb 11-13 with celebrities, competitions & cars, cars, cars!
INDIANAPOLIS – Over 500 incredible vehicles of all shapes, sizes and descriptions will fill three buildings at the Indiana State Fairgrounds next month as the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 World of Wheels, presented by Ray Skillman Discount Auto, returns to Indianapolis for the 52nd consecutive year.
Show dates are Friday, February 11 through Sunday, February 13.
An anticipated 45,000 auto enthusiasts will pack the Fairgrounds’ Toyota Blue Ribbon, Champions and South Pavilions to view nostalgic race cars in the perennially popular Drag City USA display - along with hundreds of traditional rods, customs and bobbers, Euro customs, sport compacts, and trucks. Among the exhibits will be the futuristic “Roswell Rod” bubbletop. And fans of two-wheeled transport will not want to miss the All-American Motorcycles 2011 Show presented by Harley-Davidson of Indianapolis, featuring all makes and models of bikes, both custom and restored.
The gigantic World of Wheels exhibition offers exciting attractions for every member of the family, regardless of age. Among celebrities scheduled to appear at this year’s show are:
• Billy “the Exterminator” Bretherton, the zany pest removal expert and star of the popular A&E Network show “Billy the Exterminator,” Saturday from 1 to 4 pm and again at 7 to 9 pm.
• Indianapolis Colts’ offensive tackle Ryan Diem, Friday from 7:30-8:30 pm.
• WWE wrestling superstar Shawn Michaels, Saturday 1 to 4 pm.
• Disney Channel star Debby Ryan from “The Suite Life on Deck,” Sunday 12 noon to 5 pm.
• The kids’ favorite, Spongebob Squarepants, Friday 6 to 9 pm, Saturday 11 am to 8 pm, and Sunday 11 am to 5 pm.
• Steel Horse TV’s Steve Reeves, Friday from 7 to 9 pm, Saturday from 12 noon to 2 pm and 6 to 8 pm, and Sunday 2 to 5 pm.
• The legendary Gene Winfield, one of the world’s most renowned custom car builders. The 80-year old Winfield will host interactive seminars throughout the weekend, demonstrating his unique “chopping” techniques for his ardent fans.
The World of Wheels’ annual Pinstriper Panel Jam & Auction, showcasing many of the nation’s most skilled artists on-site and in action, will benefit The Diabetes Youth Foundation of Indiana. Auctions take place Friday at 7:30 pm, Saturday at 2, 4 and 7:30 pm, and Sunday at 3.
Other World of Wheels’ attractions include an interactive sprint car simulator from Knoxville (IA) Speedway; automotive swap meet for all those hard-to-find parts; Miss World of Wheels Pin-Up Contest Friday at 8 pm; fast-paced tire changing competitions; Hooters’ “Harley Hottie” bikini contest Saturday at 8 pm, and Car Care workshops presented by Meguiar’s.

Advance sale tickets ($12 adult; $4 children 6-12) are available at all 14 area O’Reilly Auto Parts stores, and at all six metro locations of Church Brothers Collision Repair – Downtown, Castleton, Greenwood, Zionsville, Avon and Shadeland.
General admission at the door is $14 adults, $5 children 6-12. Youngsters 5 and under are admitted free.
