| Anyone want to go to the track one last time before it closes? Dave K. and I are planning on having a friendly grudge match. Maybe this will finally be the year that I out ET him ;-)
With the club's connection with MPH, I wonder if we could finagle a little extra track prep on the 19th. Dave and I were planning on racing on a Thursday night (slick tire test and tune) but those are already finished for the season.
I hope to see some fellow CICC members at the track on the 19th. The rain date will be the 26th, which is the last Street Legal Drags for the year.
UPDATE: I just checked the ORP website and found the following posts...
O’Reilly Raceway Park Tuesday Night Street Legal and slick tire test and tune programs continue Following the success of the first Tuesday Night Street Legal and Slick Tire Test and Tune the staff of O’Reilly Raceway Park and the racers are set to return for another great night at the track. “We feel both the street legal cars and the slick tire cars were able to take part in the night and both found the night to beneficial,” said Kurt Johnson, director of racing and operations. “This was a great start to the new program and we are excited to see it continue through the rest of the season.”
Tuesday Night Street Legals and Slick Tire Test & Tunes to continue into November With the recent string of warm dry weather in the Indianapolis area, O’Reilly Raceway Park will continue running the Tuesday Night Street Legals and Slick Tire Test and Tune nights into the month of November. Join us as we take advantage of this great weather and continue the 2010 season!

| Dave and I both ran personal bests Tuesday night. Here is my best run of the night: 11.670 @ 119.30 / 1.641 60-foot My previous best was 11.949 @ 117.53 / 1.694 60-foot. The main change I made was installing a set of skinnies up front and a fresh set of fatties out back. Removing almost 50 pounds of rolling stock seemed to make a significant difference. But Dave had to go and run an 11.651 @ 115.86 / 1.658 60-foot. Even though I lost the grudge match, I'm happy with my improved time. Craig, thanks for spectating and documenting the races on video! | |

| Thanks. It is pretty amazing how close our cars run...but that's what makes it fun. Neither Dave nor I ever imagined running this deep in the 11's when we installed our stroker motors 11 and 12 years ago. I couldn't even break into the 12's the first year I had the 383. Dave finally broke his little 10-bolt though. On our last head-to-head race his rear axle made a loud clunk as he left the starting line and made some more bad noises as he turned off the track. But that was his best 60-foot, best ET, and best MPH run...and he was able to drive the car home. He is now day dreaming about a Ford 9". I may sneak back out to ORP and see if I can better my time (and beat Dave's time) while his car is out of commission. I can't let Dave gloat all winter long that his car is faster than mine. Benny, how low in the 11's did you run when rowing the gears and w/o a power adder? | |

| That was a close race for sure. Danny you gotta go out there and show Dave who has the faster car. You can doooo it!
I ran my camaro at us41 4 years ago and went 11.42. And the tranny was not shifting well due to clutch problems.
GL Danny. I will be at ORP next Tuesday night if the weather is good.
