Hey Everyone...I've finally returned to the Camaro stables...and for a change...I've gone with an LT1 Powered 4th gen. That's right...an LT1. My last three Camaros were all LS1...so I have a much different learning curve ahead of me. From the forums that I've already been to, the number one word associated with these engines...is..."OPTISPARK"...I'm guessing that this wasn't GM's greatest design achievement. Anyway...bring it on, I'm just glad to have one to play with. It must be the age, but I even went with an automatic transmission.

More to come as I get this one cleaned up...and as I begin the modding process. Watch out Danny & Dave...I may be competition some day...or year! Laughing

Pics to follow, in the meantime...here's one from my phone.

Later,

Congrats on the "new" Camaro Rick!! Cool

My first Camaro (and my first new car) was a 1994 Z28.

Where in the world did you find a totally stock Z28? scratch Surely some performance mods have been done to it in the last 16 years ;-)

I've had my share of Optispark issues. But Dave has had good luck with his though. I may have some spare parts in my garage that would work great on your Z28. Smile

Hey Danny...I just happened to stumble on this one down at Hubler Chevy...the salesman was clueless on the history of the car. The interior is very clean for a 16-17 y.o. car. As the picture above shows, it has cloth interior (with the "usual" driver's seat wear), salad shooters, stock exhaust, stock intake, the whole 9 yards. Someone either restored it to "looking" stock...or it really is? It has 143K on the odometer, but the engine bay is clean and it doesn't smoke...so it must have decent valve guides and other internals. It runs smooth in town and an ever so slight shimmi on the interstate at 75 mph. Probably 25-35% left on the tires...so I think that's the shimmi culprit. It had a "clean" CARFAX report! All in all for $3K...I can't complain! The "Italian Stallion" is isn't, maybe more like the Green Hornet in its "Pupa" stage. Embarassed

I won't be able to attend the December meeting, but I'll try to make it to January's. Let me know if your "parts bin" might be helpful. Oh...BTW...what tuning package or software would you suggest with this OBDI car? Tunercats?

Congrats Rick!

You're going to have to do quite a bit of modding to catch Danny/Dave Laughing

If you got an LS1, all it would have took is a cam and head change - hehe.

Craig...obviously I was engaging in a little "tongue and cheek" commentary when I warned Danny and Dave that I was hot on thier tails...that'll never happen because I don't want to spend a fortune trying to accomplish that goal. Let's face it, there's always someone bigger, stronger, faster than ourselves...so why bother...I'll just be king of my driveway! Very Happy

BTW...how's your car doing these days? Have you been able to break into the 12's? You and Rachel still adding to the family totals? Hope everyone is doing well...back to work.

Greg...that would be an A4 automatic. I wish it were a T56 like my last 3...but hey...change is the spice of life...right!?

Basically...and that is the key word here...it is your average dealer ordered Camaro...but she's mine and that is the most important part here! afro

Congrats on the LT1. I still have a totally stock one. I have too much documentation on mine to mod it. I am afraid to kill what little value it has. Good luck!!!
