From another message board I'm on.....
This past Sunday afternoon the Southern California 3rd Generation F Body Club had a unique opportunity to have a question and answer session with Richard LaGrasta a member of the General Motors F Body Design & Engineering Division at the Van Nuys assembly plant from 1966-1992.
Given the rarity of this special occasion we made it a point to videotape the session so we could share it with our fellow 3rd gen enthusiasts across the nation. Over the course of the two hours we spent with Richard heard lots about the natural progression of the F Body, why certain transmissions were never available behind certain motors, factory 1LE cars, why they chose uni-body construction instead of utilizing a full frame design, why certain F Body’s were optioned one way and others with the same badging were optioned completely different, and the list goes on…
There were several people that had submitted specific questions for us to as during the session. Some, not all of these questions were answered. For those that were not, Richard has asked that I email him the remaining questions and he will respond to them via email. I will post this information as soon as it becomes available.
All in all, an amazing experience!
The Q&A session is broken down into 6 parts for easier viewing. Enjoy
