I bought a 2004 LQ4 6.0L truck engine from craigslist to build a 408 stroker so I don't need most of the stock parts. I was told the engine had 77K miles when pulled but I have no way to verify the mileage. Send me an email at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] if you are interested in any of these parts or would like to see a pics. I'm located in Danville, IN.

Heads: Aluminum 317 Casting complete $200
Rocker Arms with stands: $40
Cam: $40
Lifters: $40
Connecting Rods and Pistons: $50 -SOLD
Crankshaft: $75
Push Rods: $20
Oil Pan: $40
Flexplate: $30
Alternator: $30
Starter: $30
AC Compressor: $30
Water Pump: $30

-Make an offer if you are interested in everything I'll make you a great package deal, I want this stuff gone. Thanks

Do you know...

Will the Alternator work on a 5.3L?

It looks like it might. I'd take it if it works(as far as you know)...

You ever make it to a club meeting anymore?

I think the alternator would work on a 5.3 but I'm not positive. I've also got the brackets for it if you need them. If you want to send me your email I can send you a pic of it and you can see if it looks the same. As far as I know it worked but I never saw this engine run before it was pulled so I can't be for sure. If it isn't any good I'd be willing to give you a refund.

I haven't been to a meeting in forever. I need to get involved in that again, it was fun.

Craig,
I haven't gotten very far yet on the actual build other than accumlating parts and selling my old 383. I think I must be crazy for selling the 383 since it was running so well.
I have the 6.0L disassembled down to the bare block and ready to go to the machine shop. I ordered an engine cradle for it but it was on backorder so I've been waiting to get it (3 weeks) so I can get the block to the machine shop. I have a tubular k-member with LS mounts ready to go in, thats my next step. I've got most of the little things bought already: MSD controller, water pump, intake manifold, balancer, bolts, oil pan, coil packs etc. Now I'm ready to get into the actual engine and get this thing done. The machine shop gave me a better deal on the rotating assembly and heads than I could have gotten elsewhere so I'm getting all of that stuff through them. This build will start coming together here pretty soon, the block will go to the machine shop next week with or without the cradle. I'm excited to get serious on the build, I've been planning it for quite a while now.

Greg - Let me know if you want the alternator for sure and we can meet up sometime when you are in Indy.
